Question: Why are the quality and size of the photos on this website horrible?

Answer

It depends on how the pictures are being viewed.

If a special third party tool is used or you are attempting to host the images elsewhere, you may be seeing a half-size, image thats horrible. In order for the photographers to feel appreciated for the efforts they put out to deliverprofessional photos (not horrible ones) on a worldwide high-speed network to everyone, we ask that you visit this website to see the latest pictures so that the normal size nice ones can be seen. Downloading a high-qualitypicture directly from this website via the individual picture page is an option. We would also appreciate it if a link to us is placed on any website or social network if hosting the downloaded image on any other website is your intention.

If we allowed anyone to see the highest quality pictures regardless of whoever or whatever is accessing them, then our server will slow down considerably and costs to produce photos may be much higher. This in turn would create a horrible user experience for all.

We also set the image quality on site to comply with industry standards, but in the download, we offer maximum quality. We choose industry standard quality in order to cut down on internal image download size and waiting time, hence making the network appear faster.
