Answer

There may be times where there are fluctuations to the initial waiting time for any page. In order to continue to improve overall user experience, we decided to create a special back-end only system that allows us to serve pages at a very high speed.

The system does work quite often, but it is currently an ongoing project. Fluctuations may be noticeable when a page here is loaded twice immediately after any of these things happen:

  1. Certain features of this website are updated and/or fixed
  2. New photo galleries are added or removed
  3. Individual photos are removed
  4. An extremely large number of unique pages are visited, but this is rare.

The answer so far assumes you have an internet connection that runs at a consistent speed.

If you are connected via a mobile device while traveling, then more fluctuations may result which in turn increases initial waiting timebecause you are switching from one data access point to another. This switching as well as the speed and strength of eachdata point can add to further fluctuations and/or waiting time.
